Facebook Adds Moderation Assist to Group Admin Tools

As a Facebook Group Admin, you spend a lot of time moderating conversations and helping make sure that your community is a safe and welcoming place for everyone. But moderation isn’t easy and it can take up a lot of your time. Thankfully, now there’s a new tool that can help you out.

How do you moderate on Facebook?

Moderation assist facebook is a tool that automatically hides comments that match specific criteria you set in advance. You can choose from a variety of criteria such as “post has more than or fewer than 10 characters” and “post includes links or images.” You can also set up a rule to hide posts that contain profanity.

Facebook says that it’s designed to save you time by proactively moderating new comments on your posts based on the criteria you’ve set in advance. It’s an addition to the existing moderation tools you can use, including post approvals and keyword alerts. But you can still manually review incoming posts to ensure that they meet your criteria.

Facebook also announced that it’s ramping up support for creators by adding more comment moderation controls and testing live support for troubleshooting. This includes the ability to block problematic users and any new accounts they create, along with keyword blocking to hide comments that contain variations of words using numbers, symbols or alternative spellings.
